"People get scared when they hear that they have a disc herniation because it sounds like such a serious thing.  This meta-analysis found, however, that roughly 2/3 of lumbar disc herniations fix themselves (the nucleus pulposus is resorbed, and stops protruding).

This meta should be viewed with some caution because, to this point, there aren't any high-quality randomized control trials on the topic.  However, spontaneous resorption is now cemented as a fairly frequent phenomenon after lumbar disc herniation.  Therefore, conservative treatment (i.e. physical therapy) is probably now even more warranted after a disc herniation diagnosis compared to more aggressive treatments (i.e. surgery).  At the very least, if you're diagnosed with a disc herniation and your first doctor recommends surgery right away, it's probably worth getting a second opinion."

Salut à tous, :)

 

Compte tenu d'une succession de lumbagos (8 en 5 mois) remontant à un premier épisode de lombalgie suite à une randonnée avec pas mal de dénivelé, j'aimerais me faire une routine d'entraînement/étirements visant à corriger ma posture (encore légèrement hyperlordosée malgré pas mal de travail de musculation des fessiers/ischios + étirement des fléchisseur des hanches), renforcer la stabilité de mon core et étirer les muscles de la zone lombaire très tendus.

 

J'ai trouvé du réconfort en voyant que pas mal de posts intéressants avaient été publiés dans cette section mais j'aurais voulu savoir, par souci de gain de temps (et non de flemme :)), si quelqu'un avait déjà mis au point un fichier d'entraînement regroupant des exercices phares ?

 

J'ai mal au dos au moindre soulèvement d'objet un tant soit peu lourd en position debout et je ne peux pas me suspendre à une barre de traction au risque de voir tous les muscles de la zone lombaire se rigidifier compte tenu de l'antéversion du bassin dans cette position. A 28 ans, ça fait peur :ph34r:
